Pangbourne - General
Pangbourne is located about six miles to the west of Reading where the River Pang joins the Thames. Its history as a settlement goes back at least until Roman times and there is evidence of even longer occupation. Across the Thames is Whitchurch on Thames and going clockwise the neighbouring settlements are Purley on Thames, Sulham, Tidmarsh, Theale, Englefield, Bradfield and Basildon.Pangbourne Parish is formed from three early Saxon settlements of Pangbourne, Bowden and Maidenhatch where there is the remains of a Roman villa.
It has a Parish Council - see Parish Council and is part of West Berkshire - see West Berkshire Council
